SYRIA · CALCULATION GUIDE

How the Syria salary estimate works

A transparent calculation with editable payroll rates while Syria's 2026 implementation framework remains in transition.

Rules version SY-2026.1 · Reviewed 2 October 2026

The Syria calculator is usable, but its four core defaults are assumptions—not a claim that one official 2026 circular has conclusively established every payroll case. Each value is displayed and editable.

Default calculation

  1. Start with monthly gross salary in Syrian pounds.
  2. Apply the displayed employee social-insurance rate to salary up to the displayed contribution ceiling.
  3. Apply the displayed salary income-tax rate when the employee is taxable.
  4. Subtract employee insurance and income tax from gross salary to estimate net salary.
  5. Add the employer insurance contribution to gross salary to estimate employer cost.

Default variables

VariableDefaultHow to use it
Employee insurance7.1%Applied to the capped contribution wage
Employer insurance16.9%Added to employer cost
Monthly contribution ceilingSYP 240,000Maximum wage used for both insurance rates
Salary income tax15%Applied to gross salary in the current configurable model

Why the fields are editable

Accessible official portals identify the responsible tax and social-insurance authorities, but we could not obtain one stable primary publication that resolves the 2026 rates, ceiling, coverage and effective-date questions for every employee. Published operational guidance also conflicts. The calculator therefore exposes the assumptions instead of hiding them inside code.

Sources and verification

Before using a result

Confirm the employee's insurance coverage, the applicable salary base, the current contribution ceiling, taxable allowances and the effective payroll period. If your verified instruction differs, change the displayed variables and report the source to Salary Ledger so it can be reviewed.
